2015 Estate Syrah

The dark and highly complex 2015 Lodmell Cellars Estate Syrah displays generous notes of black licorice, black pepper and blackberry on the palate.  Associated aromas precede and inform its heavily structured taste, and owing to its ample concentration, the wine exhibits a nearly endless finish.  
This Rhône-style wine was masterfully created from 100% Syrah in true Cornas tradition, and the result is a highly distinctive example of what a Washington Syrah has potential to achieve if given enough time to develop.  The long, reserve-style maturation in neutral French oak resulted in velvet-soft tannins and discreet hints of baking spice.  Being a reserve Syrah, it is conditioned for long cellar life, but one will be pleasingly rewarded if this wine is consumed upon release.
